Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Mariy, the AI-readiness checker (the "service"), provided by the operator of Mariy ("we", "us"). By using the service you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them. If you do not accept any part of them, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Mariy checks how ready a website is to be found, read and cited by AI tools and answer engines such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. A scan reads the home page of the site you enter; a site audit reads several of its pages.

We may add, change or remove features with reasonable notice.

2. What you get

• Visitor scan (no account): The score, and whether each check passed, for the home page of any site. Details and fixes stay locked, and the number of scans per hour is limited.
• Free account and verification: Each account can verify one site it owns. Verifying opens the full report and suggested fixes for that site, with 3 audits and 3 AI fix runs. This bundle is given once per website, even if several accounts verify it.
• Pro one-time unlock: Available once payments open. One payment per site, with no subscription and no renewal. It sets that site's balance to 15 audits, 3 AI fix runs and 3 multi-page site audits; credits left over are replaced, not added to. Your dashboard calls this the "full unlock". Credits do not refill, and the price is the one shown at checkout.
• Coming soon: Features marked "coming soon", monitoring included, are not part of any plan until they launch. We will add their terms here before they do.

3. Beta codes

Payments are closed during the beta. Instead, a limited number of beta codes give the same Pro one-time unlock for free.

• One code per account, and one per website. A site and its subdomains count as one website.
• You need a verified site to redeem a code, and the unlock applies to that site.
• Codes have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred.
• We may revoke a code that was redeemed in breach of these terms. Revoking removes the unlock and any credits left on it.
• The beta and its codes may end at any time.

4. Payments and refunds

• Stripe processes payments, and you also accept Stripe's terms for the transaction.
• A refund removes the unlock and any credits left on it.
• Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or at our discretion.
• Credits belong to the site they were bought for and to your account. They cannot be moved to another site or account.

5. Your account

• You must be 16 or older to use the features that need an account.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your sign-in details secure.
• Activity on your account is treated as yours unless you tell us promptly about unauthorized use.
• One account per person. Do not create extra accounts to get more free credits or beta codes.
• We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms.

6. Acceptable use

When you use the service, you agree:

• Not to scan sites you do not own or are not allowed to scan: You alone are responsible for getting permission from site owners, and for any legal claim that arises from your scans.
• Not to get around credits or rate limits by any means, such as multiple accounts or proxy networks.
• Not to use the service for anything illegal, or for anything that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy.
• Not to flood the service with excessive automated requests, abuse its infrastructure, or attempt denial-of-service attacks.
• Not to reverse engineer the service, extract its code, or copy its internal workings.
• Not to resell or redistribute the service's results, or offer access to them as a service to others, without our prior written consent.

A breach of these rules may lead to immediate suspension of the account, without a refund.

7. Intellectual property

• Ours: All rights in the service, including its code, design, logo, editorial content and algorithms, belong to us or our licensors. Using the service does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
• Your content: The sites and links you enter remain yours or their owners'. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content to produce your scan results.
• Generated results: Scan results, recommendations and fixes produced by the service are provided for your use. You may apply them to your site or share them with your team.

8. Disclaimers

• The service is provided "as is": It comes without any express or implied warranty. We do not guarantee that scan results will improve how you appear in AI tools, because those tools keep changing how they work.
• AI-generated recommendations: They may be inaccurate or not suited to your situation. You are responsible for applying them, and you should review them before changing your live site.
• Third-party data: Some checks, such as the Wikidata presence check, rely on outside services. The accuracy and availability of their data are outside our control.
• Downtime and maintenance: The service may stop for short periods for maintenance or updates. We try to keep this to a minimum but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special damages, including lost revenue, opportunities, reputation or data.
• Our total liability to you in any 12 consecutive months will not exceed the amount you paid for the service in that period or US$100, whichever is greater.

10. Ending your account

• You can delete your account at any time, from Account settings in the account menu if that option is shown to you, or by emailing us.
• Credits left on your sites are lost when the account is deleted, and they are not refunded.
• We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms or clearly misuse the service.
• After deletion, your data is handled as the Privacy Policy describes.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms from time to time. The updated version will appear on this page with its date. Continuing to use the service after a change is published means you accept the new terms. We will try to tell you about material changes in the app or by email.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country where the service is operated. Any dispute arising from them or relating to them will first be settled amicably; if that fails, it will go to arbitration or to the competent courts where the service is operated.
